Oaka at the Mansion House

(This sums up my relationship with my mother)

This isn't really a proper blog post, but I needed to mention how amazing this restaurant is. Located in rather underrated Kennington, Oaka boasts fabulous Pan-Asian cuisine that leaves you feeling full, but not in an 'OH MY GOD I AM GOING TO BURST' kind of way. It's not heavy food at all, and seriously, it is delicious.
My brother was going to look round Queen Mary last weekend, and I'd just finished my first week of my internship, so my mum drove up to London and took us all out to this little spot.
I had the Pad-Thai and it was incredible. You'll never want to go to Wagamamas again after this. They pop the sesame seeds and chilli flakes on the side so you can decide how much you want, and the king prawns are bloody monsters! Everything about it was delicious and it was so affordable - my king prawn pad-thai was only about £9, which I think is a bloody good deal really, considering the quality of the food.

The only negative thing is that you pretty much have to eat in complete darkness. I guess it's an 'atmosphere' thing, but I prefer to see what I'm eating...

But yeah, a really great little hidden gem if you want fantastic food and a bit of peace and quiet.

P.S. They do the best prawn crackers I've ever tasted, hence all the pictures...
