Towards the end of our trip, we headed into the other Park at Disney - The Disney Studios.
I hadn't actually realised just how many films were made by Disney, so with a hop, skip and a jump, we hurried off to explore...
...stopping for a photo first!
We headed straight to the Cars ride.
Cars is my favourite ever Disney film, and actually one of my favourite films generally.
If it's possible to have a crush on a fictional cartoon car, I have the hots for Lightning McQueen!
We had to queue for quite some time, so I took full advantage of the photo opportunities for ya.
The ride was kind of like spinning teacups, but you're in a car (unsurprisingly)
Louis and Daddy were 'driving' in the front, I sat in the back trying not to puke from dizziness!
After this, we headed to Toy Story Playland and went on the Parachute Jump, before heading to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. You go up endless storeys in a lift and then plummet in pitch black. This gave Louis the shock of his life (despite him being the one who nagged us to go on it) and scared him so much that we left the Disney Studios and went back to the other Disney Park for a more happy vibe.
Luckily, we were just in time for the parade.
We'd met up with Zach's uncle a couple of days before, and he'd bestowed upon us some rather valuable information that we probably wouldn't have known otherwise...
There's a dragon in the dungeon of the castle.
Now, Louis is obsessed with dragons. And cyclops, and minotaurs, and all things big and scary and legendary. But yeah, he thinks dragons are pretty damn cool, and so do I. So off we trotted to the dungeon!
It was dark, as you can imagine, but I got a few okayish shots!
After this, we headed on over to Fantasyland and took a trip through Alice's maze.
There were all things weird and wonderful, and Louis had a great time running round corners and ducking under unexpected squirts of water.
The grand finale of the trip was the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
We crossed bridges, stumbled across pirate ships and ventured through twisting smugglers' caves to get there...
We were greeted at the entrance to the ride by a couple of salty sea dogs, and then proceeded to queue for ONE AND A HALF HOURS!
That's one and a half hours on your feet, surrounded by hundreds of people packed tightly like sardines, with a five year old humming the Pirates of the Caribbean theme tune the entire time.
Not fun. Not okay.
I had the absolute worst headache of my life. However, once we got on the ride, everything was made better by the huge smile on Louis' face. In his opinion, the only things that beat dragons are pirates.
oooooo arrrrrgghhh me hearties!
Afterwards, us three newly transformed swashbucklers made our way to the train station to begin the journey back to the UK.
It was definitely a trip to remember. Stressful and exhausting, but all made entirely worth it by Louis' constant grin. I really had never seen him so happy.
