I haven't really had a chance to sit down and write a post in 3 weeks.
A key contributor to this lack of posts was my trip to Barcelona.
I flew out the day after I finished my exams and stayed there for 8 days. Here's a small insight into my holiday...
All my photos are from my instagram as I didn't take my DSLR and the rest of my photos are on a disposable which I am yet to get developed, but will do a post of those when I have them.
I headed to Birmingham Airport from my university home after a pretty heavy night celebrating the end of exams the night before.
I was early, as per usual, so I bought a book for some entertainment.
I seriously can't recommend Wolf Hall enough, especially if you're British or are interested in British history. It really brings the past to life - a great read.
After killing a bit of time, I took a swing through duty free...
...but resisted buying anything and caught my flight.
After landing, bussing it to my accommodation and unpacking, I went off exploring...
And then settled down in Placa Reial with a Sangria
The next day, I got up early to make the most of the sunshine.
I wriggled into my shortest shorts, and took a little snap...
... before setting myself up on the roof terrace for a day of sunbathing
After enough tanning, I went for a walk to the harbour and chilled there until it was time for eating and partying.
The next day, two of my friends flew out to meet me.
The rest of the holiday involved a lot of cheap and cheerful cartons of this...
Sangria friends!
but the hangover the next day required lots of fruit smoothies...
We wandered up to Gaudi's unfinished cathedral, the Sagrada Familia, like good little history of art students
It really is peculiar. Sort of like an alien invasion with cranes and scaffolding. Nothing quite like I've ever seen before.
We carried on exploring before heading off on an organised 'bar crawl' (which wasn't actually called a bar crawl because apparently they're forbidden in Barcelona, who knew?) later in the evening.
We started at a bar called Chupitos (shots in Spanish) which serves hundreds of shots.
We had some interesting ones!
Which resulted in taking posed photos around Barcelona...
Now, I don't have photos from every day of the rest of the holiday, but I do have a few!
Me and Alex became beach babes on one of the days...
(I am so little)
We strolled up to a clifftop park for a view of the city on another of the days...
And the girls finished their trip with tapas
Alex and Charlie flew back the day before me, and I stayed out to meet my friend Molly who is a stewardess on one of the super yachts.
This gave me more time to explore and take a few more pictures of interesting Gaudi buildings!
like a good little history of art student!
A much needed break from intense studying and exam induced mini mental breakdowns.
Perfect.
