The Lobster Pot doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it's the cutest little French seafood restaurant you could possibly imagine.
Foghorns and seagull noises become the backing track to your meal as you devour your entire week's worth of calories in the most delicious food I've ever tasted!
They also have little porthole fishtanks with goldfish swimming around inside!
We opted for the 'Surprise 8 Course Menu (with Lobster)'
Despite the courses being small, I was about to burst by the time desserts appeared in front of me, so seriously, you will not be disappointed!
Here's what we were served...
Homemade fishcake. This was the first course and my favourite. Packed with flavour, it was just pure fish. No stodgy potato you get in normal fishcakes. This was a little taste of heaven.
Next was Cajun Crusted Perch. DELISH.
Then Lobster Claw balanced on half a boiled potato. The presentation of this was brilliant.
Then something I really rather enjoyed... Lemon Sorbet with Ice Cold Vodka poured over the top.
You have the choice, with this menu, to opt for one course to be meat... so that's what we did!
Guinea Fowl with Courgettes in a Coconut Curry Sauce
Then a rather peculiar course which I simply couldn't handle after all the rich food...
A Goats Cheese Pastry
Then came the desserts...
Creme Brulee Crepe with Mango and Passionfruit Sauce. I had to admit defeat halfway through this, but my parents devoured the entire thing. Creme brulee is my dad's favourite!
And finally...
Strawberries in Syrup! (There were more strawberries than this, but I may have been a bit too eager to finish them...)
After several bottles of wine, we stumbled home.
I have never felt so wonderfully content in all my life!
I also highly recommend The Toulouse Lautrec next door, which is run by the same family!
