Gam Gam

A couple of weeks ago, our friend Jess visited Venice.
She's currently on her year abroad in Paris, so we don't often see her.
We were heading out to lunch anyway and since she was visiting, we asked her to join us.
We went to Gam Gam - a restaurant in the Old Jewish Ghetto part of Venice.
The food made a nice change from typical Italian pizza/pasta, and left us feeling just the right kind of full.

They brought out bread to start with, in the standard Italian fashion...

Then we had our mains.
Jess went for the most incredible looking sweet sardines and onions...

We're actually going back to this place for lunch tomorrow, and I fully intend on getting myself a plate of those glorious things.

Alex opted for meatballs and cous cous...

Whilst Helena chose some rather saucy looking chickpeas...

My lentil soup wasn't exactly the most beautiful thing on the planet...

But I promise you, it was yummy nonetheless.

Let's take another look at Jess' sardines...

I'm getting hungry just looking at pictures of them... cannot wait for lunch tomorrow.
