Helloooooooo!
Long time, no see, huh? Life's turned a bit crazy and I am now very much at the mercy of an evil presentation and a rather ferocious essay.
Nevertheless, I feel as though we have some catching up to do!
A while back my university held a History of Art conference at the Palazzo Pesaro Papafava (my university building in Venice)
It was held over the weekend and a variety of top notch art historians took to the stage to present their research.
I went on both the Friday and Saturday, but only photographed the Friday night.
The speaker that evening was Professor Elizabeth Cropper. She gave a talk entitled 'Portraying Beauty; Parmigianino, Raphael and Titian'.
Everything was far more interesting than I thought it would be. Not to be too self deprecating, but I thought it would all go over my head and I wouldn't be smart enough for it. It's nice to be proven wrong sometimes!
The talk in action.
The turn out was good, with many people flying in from all over the place!
And yes, that is where I have my lectures - cool huh?
It wouldn't be an art history shindig without loads of prosecco!
Our lecturer, Dr. Lorenzo Pericolo, is super big on this. We have prosecco at every single event here AND in the UK. Suppose my course isn't too bad...
Oops, the camera was on the wrong setting! Still quite a nice shot though.
L to R: Sophie, Alex, Charlie, me (don't ask what's going on with my hair, I refuse to trust Venetian hairdressers so I'm trying to work the 'I really need a haircut' look)
As above, with the addition of Tom - the novel male presence on our course of all ladies.
I promise not to leave it so long next time - I have too much to tell you about to let that happen again!
