Burano and Murano

When we'd finished with Torcello, we boarded the vap again and headed to Burano to spend our lunchbreak.
Burano is Veneto's answer to Balamory.
Colourful houses EVERYWHERE. There's not much to do though, except their famous lace museum, so we spent our break lounging around in the square, people watching.

After a couple of hours spent in Burano, we headed to Murano - the home of Murano Glass.

We weren't there to see the glassworks though, we were there for more churches...

Between visits, we chilled out on one of the bridges, taking in the view.
There's something strangely intriguing about ramshackle Italian houses.

And again, I just couldn't stop taking photos.
