We celebrated Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but the cameras only really came out on the Saturday, so I thought I'd give you a brief overview of what we did.
Not all the photos were taken by me - some were taken by my girls, Alex and Charlie.
Anyway, we started off by meeting for lunch on Saturday. I wanted 'birthday burgers' and knew only one place that offered them - our favourite English pub, 'Devil's Forest'.
Unfortunately, the ones I'd seen before were only an evening thing, so we ordered the lunch burger and hoped for the best.
It would appear that the Italians have a rather strange idea of a hamburger, and it came out as a patty on some fried bread...
The chips were to die for though, so they more than made up for it.
Afterwards, we decided we needed to go for a walk to combat the food comas, so we headed to the Frari. There's a really great coffee shop right next to it which do NUTELLA ESPRESSOS.
We ordered three to go, and sat on the steps of the Frari enjoying them.
I have since been back here and will do an entire post on these beauties another time.
Somehow, it had gotten to 4pm without us realising, so we hurried over the Rialto to our favourite jazz bar - Bacaro Jazz - just in time for happy hour.
We may have ordered ALL the cocktails...
But hey, you're only 21 once!
At 6pm we headed back to the flat for a quick outfit change and some party prep. Louis sent me a 'party kit' in the post which included balloons, streamers, table confetti, the whole sha-bang, so we went all out decorating the place.
We had a few friends over for a drinks party and I provided a buffet dinner of Italian meats, breads, olives, pasta, basically everything you'd expect in Italy.
Finally, we hit our favourite bar in Campo Santa Margherita for prosecco.
A brilliant birthday with brilliant people. 21 seems like fun!
