Early Mother's Day in Warwick

Because I won't be at home next Sunday for Mother's Day, my lovely mother brought my little man up to see me a week early.
After big hugs and kisses at my front door, and a strong coffee for Mum after her early start, L gave me my Mother's Day surprise - two lovely cards (beautifully written and chosen himself!) and a photo frame with a picture of us in.

(he looks like he has a lazy eye but it's just the camera angle - I've had him checked, I promise!)
After all the cuddles were over and Mum (Nanny Anni) had finished her coffee, we headed to Warwick to explore.
Everyone needs to go to Warwick. It's such a beautiful town, full of higgledy piggledy Medieval buildings, cute tea rooms, independent shops and wonderful pubs.

We decided to have coffee/diet coke/hot chocolate at the Lord Leycester Hospital tea rooms. We'd driven past the building before and were really intrigued by it - look at the pictures, I'm sure you'll marvel at it just as much as we did!

Louis started getting hungry so we meandered further into the town to find a nice pub.
We settled for The Rose and Crown, which in hindsight was substantially overpriced but yummy nonetheless!
I opted for the roast beef - I'd not had a roast since Christmas Day so this was a massive treat!

When we were all comfortably full, Mum dropped me back at mine, we all said our goodbyes, then they headed home to the Isle of Wight.
All in all, a wonderful day escaping from my looming deadlines!
